You never know what to expect when Carter and I go to his checkups. His 12 Month checkup was a trip and half. I was hoping his 15 month appointment would go a little quicker and smoother.
I absolutely adore Carter's pediatrician! One of the issues I had with Carter's 12 month appointment was that I couldn't get in to see Dr. C., which was my fault since I *cough, cough* forgot to make his 12 month appointment until he was 12 months old *oops*! Dr. C always takes his time and asks how Evan is doing. Always seems to really listen to my mommy ramblings. Rarely looks at the chart in front of him but remembers all the important stuff that we have went through with Carter (food allergies, concern about him crawling late, and possibly walking late. Even though the scare of it all is over (HERE and HERE too if you want to read a little more). I know he probably does a quick glance at the chart before he comes in but just the fact that he takes a few extra moments to re-acquaint himself with my boys, makes this mom very, very happy!! And besides ALL of that he is a Michigan fan. Who wouldn't want a Doctor that wears his Michigan Jersey to work - come on!!
So, with my digression about my crush adoration of Dr. C, the more important Carter stats:
- He went from the 50th percentile in Height just three months ago to over the 75th percentile this checkup- woot woot, Jeremy might have a basketball player after all!
- We went from the 75th percentile in weight (chunky monkey) to the 50th percentile.
- And of course he passed all the test questions, such as: "Does Carter enjoy reading?" And my reply, "If I have to read one more book, I might shoot myself in the foot Of course he LOVES to read, 5, 10, 15 books at a time"
- And of course, he chose to show Dr. C that although he doesn't play with electrical outlets at home, he was determined to figure out how to open the safety latches in the office. Come on kid!
Thankful to God for another healthy check up and that my baby boy is growing big and strong!
