This weekend we baked Christmas cookies for the first time with the boys. I decided before hand that I wasn't going to interfere whatsoever in Evan's process. I was just going to let him do his thing (which if you know me, giving up control is very difficult so this was huge for me).
I hovered over for a moment then sat back and took pictures watched. The boys didn't disappoint!
And of course, you know the boys could care less what the shapes looked like in the end...HELLO...cookies are cookies. Evan was too funny also, he wanted to decorate his star red?? and Daddy's Christmas tree pink?? But when it came to Carter's Christmas tree obviously "Green Mommy! Trees are green!" Go figure. I even allowed him to decorate the cookies himself. He got a kick out of picking random colors and watching mommy mix the icing using "Mommies Cake things". Yep I even busted out the cake supplies so that he could pick whichever colors he wanted. We have a rule that he is under no circumstance to touch my cake decorating supplies so when he got to use them, he thought we were "breaking the rules."
But the best part was watching them eat their prized possessions:
