As you all well know, I kinda like to stress out about parties, in particular, my boys' birthday parties. In my mind, I KNOW that it doesn't matter how extravagant the party is. My boys won't remember how much money I spent or how many countless hours I baked. But I can't help myself. I want to make EACH and EVERY birthday party an event that shows them how important they are to me. I want to celebrate them in a big way! I think it really is a part of my love language. But this year, Evan is stretching me to be more low-key. He has been very adamant about what cake he wants me to make. For some reason, he thinks I can just whip up anything he wants ;-)! But when it came time for planning his party, he informed me that he wanted ONLY 3 things:
- Joshua, Ethan, Jack and Koen
- A Super Mario birthday cake
- Cassano's Pizza
He wants it to be at our house where the boys can play the Wii and just hang out.
Soooooo, that is my goal. To make it completely relaxing for my boy. I have found myself fighting the inner party planner, but have to keep reminding myself it's not what I want, it is what my boy wants. And it's killing me!
