Today was my very first Memorial Day. Even though I may be only 4 months old, it got me thinking. Many of you think of a day off or a picnic when you think of Memorial Day, but I got to join in my family's tradition of going to the Memorial Day Ceremony, on the grounds of the VA hospital and National Cemetery, to take some time out to remember all of our fallen heros who served to make me - me who just joined the world a few short months ago - free. I am a very lucky fellow! I want to personally thank every man and woman who has served in our Armed Forces. Thank you for being selfless and brave and for giving me the opportunity to live freely with my family here in the United States of Ameica. Here I am with my very proud Grandpa. The Air Force Band of Flight was my favorite thing. I love music and nothing makes a little boy more happy than hearing the beats of a little Sousa. My grandpa showed me what he used to play in his youth -the tuba. That is awfully big! Here I am with the crew that did the 21 Gun salute. The first round of shots scared me a little bit, but I took it like a man. It was pretty cool! Patriotism shared by Grandpa and Grandson.
