I just adore looking up kid activities on Pinterest. It just has a plethora of fun, easy ideas of activities to do with your kids of all ages. All of our projects on our Summer Bucket List this summer came from Pinterest! Last week, we had a boat load of kids at out house. I thought this play date would be a great time to try out the Bubble Snake Pin I found! My goal was to have all of the materials ready for the kids before they found out what we were doing. Unfortunately the socks we upstairs in my bedroom where Jenny's lil' man Jonah was sleeping. And I WAS NOT going to be the one that woke him up. So I tried to scrounge for some socks in the laundry room. I found 3! And of course I made the stupid decision to make 3 bottles when we had around 15 kids in our back yard. STUPID, stupid, stupid decision.
Once the first bubble snake maker was made and brought out, all the kids wanted to try and we all know how patient a bunch of little kids can be.
I tried several other "sock" materials - dish rags, wash clothes and micro fiber towels. NONE worked as well as the old socks!
So the idea of having a bunch of kids enjoying making bubble snakes went down the drain.
But for the couple of kids who tried the bubble snake makers and it worked for them, it was a success. I will definitely do this again with the boys! But I will definitely make sure all kids have one already assembled before starting!
Besides the major screw up on my part, the bubble snakes were a hit and pretty cool to watch! Thanks again Pinterest for making me look like a fun mom!
