A few days ago, I was driving with both boys bantering back and forth in the back seat. Carter thought he would be funny (because he NEVER tries to be funny) and announce "Stupid Butt". Not toward Evan or thankfully toward me, he just knows that those words are not acceptable in our family. He wanted to see what would happen if he said them. And he did a double wammy by saying them both together - REBEL! I looked in the rear view mirror to see a very smiley, giddy, proud 2 year old. That is until Evan informed him, "Car-tah those are not nice words. We don't say 'stupid' or 'butt' but saying 'silly bum' is fine".
Thank you Parent Evan! And Carter was silenced.
I could not have said it better myself. Now if only Evan remembers what is appropriate and not appropriate to say when he is a teenager. I can only hope! ;-)
