I'm not a big decorator. So the kid's rooms don't have a lot of art work or items on the walls. Not because I don't want to add things but because I am extremely indecisive! So pretty much their nurseries were very, very basic: changing table, rocking chair and rug. Except for one thing. I wanted one wall in each room to be personalized. And since you know, Jeremy is the artistic type, he loved the idea and found perfect fonts (yeah he is a total design nerd like that ;-)) and designs to go with the bedding.
Here is Evan's wall when the nursery was his:
Once Carter came, Carter got the nursery and we painted the one wall brown and kept the other walls blue to match the Dwell Studio bedding. Jeremy and I LOVED ALL the Dwell Studio and were EXCITED to see that Target carries a few items. Which is where we got both sets of bedding.
Since Evan has the larger of the two rooms, we have made his room the room for the toys and play area. We have a finished basement that has most of the boys' toys but it is nice to let them play in his room! I purchased all the items in the below pictures from Ikea except for the book shelf which I was given when I was teaching.
And when Evan got his new bed, I wanted to allow him to choose what type of bedding and hoped that whatever he chose, it would still match the room so we wouldn't have to repaint. Fortunately he chose right ;-)! And we found a fun rug (you can see just a little bit of it in the below picture) from Ikea that the boys can play their Hot Wheels and Trains on.
So that's the boys rooms right now. I am itching to already change it up again, since Carter is getting close to being ready to have a "big boy" room.
