We have definitely been busy, so far this summer and it has only been a month! I have tried to wear those boys out as much as I can and in doing so I am worn out - LOL! But anyway, I have had so much fun taking them places and enjoying this beautiful weather that we have been having. Taking them places has definitely gotten harder now that Carter has become mobile. Gone are the days of sitting still with Carter and watching Evan run around. Why did I want Carter to crawl again? Anyway, we have had many fun days going to the pool, walks to the parks, playing on every playground in the surrounding area, eating ice cream and enjoying the festivities of the 4th of July.
Evan had his first experience with Lightning bugs and loved chasing and catching them. He learned the art of candy grabbing at the 4th of July parade, watching fireworks in his pjs and learning that Carter MIGHT be a good playmate. He also has almost conquered his fear of fountains and sprinklers. He hates them but loves the pool, go figure, but as of the last few days he is starting to allow himself to get wet.
Carter is attempting new feats every day, climbing upstairs, cruising the furniture, repeating any animal sound he hears (my favorites are growling when Victor growls and growling when Evan pretends he's a bear, believe it or not the 2 don't sound anything alike). He is repeating many words, today he even attempted the word "strawberry" which sounded like "aw bay ee". He will literally fling himself toward any type of water - the boy LOVES the pool, sprinklers, fountains, his bath time. If he sees any type of water, I know I better have a good grip on him!
Life with 2 young boys IS CRAZY to say the least, but I am loving every minute of it, okay maybe not every minute, but most minutes.
The 4th of July was interesting this year. We didn't do our usual of going to the base for their annual celebration and of course it rained the night that we planned on watching fireworks. So we improvised and hung out in the truck and played games in the back until the fireworks. Evan had his first experience with the "Ice Cream Man" and now knows the sound of the truck passing, which he informs me of every time.
The weather here has been crazy beautiful. Mid to upper 70s the past couple of weeks, which almost is too cold for the pool but we manage. If you notice one picture Carter has his 4th of July shirt on with a long sleeve shirt under it. The high that day was only 72!! Crazy for July in Ohio.
Anyway, can't wait to see what the next month brings. Here are some pics of summer fun so far. There are many but too hard for me to choose which ones to keep. Enjoy!
