As I mentioned last week, we were getting close to losing a tooth. And after a week and a half of wiggling and jiggling that bad boy, Evan lost the tooth yesterday. Many of you asked on FB and twitter, if the tears flowed, based on my last post. Surprisingly they didn't. It may have been because I knew it was coming and may have already shed some tears, or it could have been the fact that I pulled the tooth and the adrenaline was flowing so much that it kept my mommy-teary-side at bay. But either way, we had a great time celebrating this first yesterday.
Evan requested that I pull the tooth. Oh geez, yuck! But I had to act like it was no biggie, after all I am mom, and the one he relies most on for being the practical and honest one. I did tell him that it was so loose, it would be a piece of cake to pull and it wouldn't hurt one bit. I also think, he was slightly afraid to let Jeremy try again, because Jeremy tried a few times over the week, before it was truly just hanging there. So I can't take full credit for the ease of the moment.
Thankfully I mustered up enough courage to pull quickly and it came right out without any pain, for either of us (ha!). To celebrate we asked Evan where he would like to get a special desert. He opted for Yogurt Mountain. Normally we give him the 2 topping rule, after we help him pour the ice cream, but since it was a special occasion, he got free reign. And he did not disappoint.
- chocolate yogurt
- oreo yogurt
- marciano cherries
- mini marshmallows
- hot fudge
Can you say "yuck"? Gross! But he thoroughly enjoyed it and I think he enjoyed us not saying anything about his choices even more!
This morning, he was super excited to see that the Tooth Fairy visited last night and that he has another loose tooth!
Congratulations little man! Can't believe how quickly you are growing up!
