Carter and I packed lunches and snacks before heading out to pick Evan up from preschool. We picked him up, then headed over to Old Navy to get some MUCH needed pants for Evan. The kid has been wearing floods for weeks - HA.
After Old Navy, we drove to a park that we like to visit periodically. We had a picnic and played at the park for a couple of hours.
After playing hard, we stopped at McDonald's to have the boys' first Shamrock shake. Okay, fine, I admit, I WANTED a shamrock shake, so I had to bribe them with one also. They enjoyed them - only drank a few sips though.
We then surprised Jeremy at work. They LOVE visiting FORGE. I mean after all, they can play pool and shoot Nerf guns at all the guys. Evan has said on numerous occasions that he can't wait to go to work. I won't burst that bubble any time soon. He will figure out that not all work environments are as nice as FORGE. And since I don't see him going into the creative fields, he will be quite disappointed ;-)! But he may surprise me.
Because it was so nice out, the boys asked if putt-putt was opened yet. I told them, I doubted it, but we would drive by anyway. DARN IT, it was opened. You know how I love playing putt putt!
We got home just a few minutes before Jeremy did, and fortunately our neighbor boy came over and played with the kids until Jeremy got home. I was BEAT! I sat in a lawn chair and watched the boys chase Aaron around the yard.
Carter was wild! When he is extremely tired, he doesn't get grumpy, he gets CRAZY! So although he was completely out of control, it was kinda funny watching him bounce off the walls!
We had some dinner - which Carter wouldn't eat because of the "bouncing of the walls". And then put the boys to bed! Whew! A crazy, fun-filled day of being outside and enjoying the warmer weather.
Days like this I forget how bad the winters are! I even won't complain about how bad my allergies are since I spent the whole day out with them! Anyways, how can you complain when you see this?
So long Ol' Man Winter - I would say we'll miss you - but that would be a lie ;-)!
