I have a horrible, horrible confession to make. Because I mostly blog about the fun, cool, cute, perfect moments, many of you have perceptions that I've got this mothering thing down. I mean after all, this is my blog and I would hate for any of you to think that I am just...ordinary or even worse that I make horrible disgusting mistakes *gasp*. Well today's confession is a doozy! And I know my mom will definitely cringe when she reads this one!
Wednesday morning Carter wakes us with some pretty impressive bed head:
I mean you could stand the hair up and it would pretty much stick. It was kinda gross. I was wondering why it was so bad and remembered that I hadn't given him a shower since ummm I couldn't remember. Seriously I couldn't remember. Which isn't such a bad thing since I don't ever sleep (which my memory is a little wonky) and since Jeremy does the baths with the boys the majority of the time and it's summer our schedules are all off. But seriously I couldn't pinpoint when he had a bath. Which really isn't a good sign. I had just made Evan take a shower Tuesday and totally forgot about Carter. I mean they had swam several times so that counts right? I am cringing as I write this. Trust me that this is completely out of character for me!
So back to Wednesday. The boys left for the day with Babci. They had a great time. Which included a baseball game at the park where Carter threw the dust of the diamond all over himself. He wasn't filthy per say but his shirt had a gray tinge to it later that afternoon when I headed over to Babci's house.
After dinner, the boys went swimming at "their" pool. Which basically is the Condo's pool right next to Babci and Poppi's Condo but usually there isn't anyone in the pool in the evening so the boys think it belongs to Babci. The boys had been swimming for about an hour when Evan swallowed a mouthful of water and threw it back up in the pool. At that point, we made the boys get out, but not before Carter swam through the area that Evan had his accident.
We got the boys undressed and put their clothes on from earlier that day, with the intention of giving Carter a quick bath when we got home.
This is the worst part. We got home and forgot to give him a bath because he just ran in and got into bed. I mean after all it was 9:30! So without really thinking about it we just let him be.
Thursday morning he got up and I realized that he still had the same dirty shirt on from playing baseball. Which grossed me out since he slept in it and I had just changed the sheets on his bed. Then I realized that he had possibly swam threw throw up the previous night. I think I threw up a little bit when I realized that. At least the pool was chlorinated right?
But if that wasn't bad enough, we were heading to the pool again, so why would I give him a shower right before the pool? So I waited again to bathe him down.
So there you have it. A complete mom fail! But don't worry, he got a deep cleaning shower after the pool yesterday! And I promise I am not a negligent mom!
