I am privileged to be working with igotta by NetTrekker. As an educator turned SAHM, I saw the demo and immediately longed to be back in the classroom. Because I just saw so many situations that I would have loved this product when I was still teaching! I have to admit, the use of technology with this product is A-MA-ZING. I am one of the skeptics when it comes to the idea of "technology is a MUST in education" or "Technology will fix everything wrong with our classrooms". But I think this is one of the best products I have seen that integrates technology with education. If you are an educator, school administrator (IT or curriculum department), I would highly ENCOURAGE you to check it out!
What caught my attention from the very beginning with igotta is that everything that a student NEEDS for a project is in ONE place!! EVERYTHING! And the student can log in any time of day. They can work on it in class, then at homeĀ they can sign in and work. And with less "stuff" to be carrying around - nothing gets loss. Which means *hint hint* no more "I forgot my note cards at home" or "Man everything was in my folder and I left my folder in the car." Not that students EVER give those types of excuses ;-).
Anyways here's what students can do in igotta:
-
Finding information (when integrated with netTrekker Search)
-
Researching for reports (when integrated with netTrekker Search)
-
Organizing their thoughts
-
Creating projects & presentations
-
Writing for assignments, papers and reports
-
Building and organizing outlines
-
Sequencing events by creating timelines
-
Taking notes (it has built in note cards that can be printed out)
-
Paraphrasing in their own words
-
Analyzing information and drawing their own conclusions
-
Citing sources properly (it won't let a student continue on with a source unless it is cited properly - awesomeness!)
-
Capturing multi-media (it as easy as dragging photos and video into a power point! And again, it won't let students move on until those things are cited properly!!)
Here is just one example from a student, who is using igotta for a research project. There are many more videos to view from students on igotta's YouTube channel.

I am being compensated to help spread the word for igotta by NetTrekker. But ALL opinions are my VERY OWN. And I would have not taken the gig if I didn't think that igotta was AWESOME!
